Hey all, Dan here with a quick update on the status of The Minecraft Book.
First, thanks for staying tuned! Doc and I started writing the book back in December and we’ve made great progress. We were a bit ambitious with our January release date, but the book has become a more rich and fun experience.
A few weeks ago we pass the book along to a ‘beta’ group of our friends and colleagues. We took their edits and critiques to heart and made a ton of changes, added some helpful tips, and began recording a supplementary podcast.
Now, we’ve transitioned in to editing mode and have begun chopping! Even for a short ebook, this is a great and awesome project. We’ve written and edited appropriately 75 pages of copy, supplemented by screenshots from the game, and a quickstart guide for n00bs.
The goal of The Minecraft Book is to create a guide that is far more than just a ‘Dummies’ book. While Doc and I do aim to create a useful guide for players, we also hope to create a rich book that contains interesting theory and retains value for a long time to come.
So: back to the manuscript! Thanks again for following The Minecraft Book!
