Xbox 360 Edition Turns 1!

Just a few days ago, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition celebrated it's first birthday. The ever-popular sandbox construction game was released on the console just over a year ago, on the 9th of May, 2012.

Just a brief history of the release: This port over from the PC version of Minecraft was a successful collaboration between 4J Studios, Mojang, and Microsoft Studios and gained the support of many current Minecrafters around the world upon release of the game through the Xbox Live Marketplace at the cost of 1,600 Microsoft Points.

Since then, a year ahead, Minecraft has risen up to become one of the most popular video games on the Internet, all thanks to the efforts of one man who started it all. As Minecraft: Xbox 360 turns 1, Mojang has specially put up a "1st Birthday Skin Pack" for free and a "1st Birthday Cape" for 80 Microsoft points.

Happy birthday Minecraft 360! There's still a long way to go and we will all be supporting your progress!
