Mechanicaljack: Mechanicaljack here with an interview with HiddenWorm. I found a Hiddenworms job in Minecraft on the / r / Minecraft - sub-forum of reddit. I really enjoyed his tutorials and got in touch to arrange an appointment with him. Why don't you think of themselves?
HiddenWorm: Hi, I am HiddenWorm, a 17-year-old Minecraft player from the Netherlands.
Mechanicaljack: and how long do you play already Minecraft?
HiddenWorm: I play the game since March 2011.
Mechanicaljack: you have to play a favorite style, such as creative or survive, or adventure cards, or?
HiddenWorm: I've really always been building, so when creative came in vanilla (1.8 Beta?), I switched from survive to do so. I almost exclusively since January 2012 to the multiplayer games.
Mechanicaljack: single-player not enjoyed myself like multiplayer long. Did you use any mods?
HiddenWorm: I actually had my first experience with mods (next to Flymod) 2 weeks ago in the home of a friend. I'm not quite sure what mods were just enabled, but it involved in many industrial buildings and automated things. As the mods I recommend to play flat core, if you want to play a more interesting time SP
Mechanicaljack: sounds like a Modpack FeedTheBeast or Tekkit. This can be fun, but overwhelming in the new content. Flat core, so a Flatworlds map? Hardcore mode?
HiddenWorm: Yes, hardcore mode on a Super flat world. You can get a lot of accessories trade and forge.
Mechanicaljack: Wow, I never tried to that taken into consideration. Sounds like a challenge! Have all texture packs that you like to use, or are a standard type of player?
HiddenWorm: I have a slightly modified version of the standard, I even made.
Mechanicaljack: Oh cool!
HiddenWorm: but not so much better makes it ugly without texture pack some blocks that look a little bit better, the building.
Mechanicaljack: Ah, it's so adapted a change in aesthetics of the style?
HiddenWorm: Yes, it does smooth sandstone and double plate blocks in coloured versions of the stone bricks texture.
Mechanicaljack: sounds interesting! So, what you turn won, was your reddit post titled "A Guide to stronger and better looking fixtures." What brought you to make this post?
HiddenWorm: I had a very basic design for the towers and the murder-holes, and when I saw a post from a castle wall to/R/Minecraft, I noticed the most castles in Minecraft have room for improvement when it comes to fixtures, historical accuracy and actual use as mounts.
Mechanicaljack: I've noticed similar, that is, what your post, which I will. From there I found the follow-up — they have titled "I taught you as you strengthen your walls, now let us a besiege!" In both in descriptions about what you show, and historical examples, like why not just a catapult to a catapult. I suppose fortresses and siege really interesting for you?
HiddenWorm: Well, when I was young I thought knights were super cool, I learned most of the knowledge about the fixtures, when I was about 10. I actually think Renaissance architecture is cooler than medieval architecture, but I've built a lot, that. I constantly switch to different architectural styles and now I'm in a medieval phase, I think.
Mechanicaljack: I got back a quick look at some of your other tutorials I have, to in future who likes Gothic rose window, so I know what you mean. Where do you get your inspiration? I think that I question, what are your sources?
HiddenWorm: I have two main sources. The first is a book that sums up almost everything, there is more about architecture between Mesopotamia and the 1970s. Unfortunately it is only available in German and Dutch, as far as I know. It's called Atlas to the architecture or Atlas van de Bouwkunst, so if it was translated into English, it is titled "Atlas of Architecture" probably.
If I build something, I learn about the design of this book would and then research similar builds exist in real life. For this purpose, I use Planetware.de, it has a wide variety of cards and pictures of tourist attractions.
Mechanicaljack: this is an amazing amount of effort and work, to put in your building, but it looks, it is worth considering the screenshots you have booked.
HiddenWorm: Thank you! Mind you, I build only according to my best, but in General, the best builds are builds that which I most of my time searching for use.
Mechanicaljack: have you planned guidance for the future?
HiddenWorm: Yes, I am currently working on a tutorial about monasteries, where I'm also on the differences between Romanesque and Gothic touch. After that's done, I may expand the two digits, I made about fixtures in a complete guide to castles.
Mechanicaljack: awesome! Is this Pack, because everything you see added or changed to Minecraft would?
HiddenWorm: stairs, that not out of their corner form reset, if you remove adjacent to stairs would be really nice. Vertical half plates would allow too much additional variety in details such as Windows.
Mechanicaljack: I think you and I are on the same page with these two changes. Thank you for visiting for the interview!
HiddenWorm: Thank you for the friendly!
